Food and Wine Tastings

Deep dive into the sumptuous food and drink of Barcelona

Barcelona isn’t just a city; it’s a feast for the senses, and our tasting experiences are designed to bring the best of Spanish and Catalan culinary traditions directly to your palate. Whether you’re a wine enthusiast, an olive oil aficionado, or simply curious about Spain’s most iconic ingredients, our intimate tastings offer an unforgettable way to deepen your appreciation of this vibrant food culture.

Our tastings are short, focused, and deeply enjoyable deep-dives into the world of Spanish gastronomy. They take place in carefully chosen, authentic venues that allow you to savour the experience in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. With small group sizes (no crowds here!) and expert guides, you’ll not only taste the difference but also gain insight into the stories, techniques, and traditions that make these foods and drinks so exceptional.

Join us to discover the heart of Spanish flavours, learn new skills, and create lasting memories—one bite or sip at a time.  Each experience prioritises the highest quality local products, showcasing the craftsmanship and heritage behind them.

Find your delicious tasting experience

We have tastings running most days of the week! Choose between our Premium Olive Oil Tasting, a 75-minute sensory journey exploring Spain’s “liquid gold,” or our Southern Spanish Wine Tasting, a 90-minute exploration of the wines and flavours of Jerez.

Both tastings are designed to fit perfectly into your Barcelona itinerary, whether as an engaging aperitivo before dinner, a stand-alone activity, or the perfect lead-in to one of our acclaimed food tours.

Olive Oil

In our 75-minute experience, you’ll taste between 5-8 exceptional Spanish olive oils, sourced from Catalonia and beyond, served with delicious locally sourced nibbles (“pica pica”) to enhance the experience. A glass of cava and fresh water complete this journey, making it the perfect aperitivo to enjoy before continuing your day exploring Barcelona or joining one of our popular small-group food tours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Absolutely! Barcelona is packed with amazing food, but knowing where to go is the real challenge. A food tour saves you from the tourist traps and takes you straight to the best, most authentic spots. You’ll taste the true flavors of Barcelona, hear the stories behind the dishes, and experience the city like a local—not just a visitor. Plus, let’s be honest, wandering the Gothic Quarter or El Born with a glass of vermut in hand is much more fun when you have an expert guide leading the way.

Barcelona’s culinary scene is a delicious mix of Catalan tradition and Mediterranean influences. You can’t leave without trying pa amb tomàquet (bread rubbed with tomato and olive oil), jamón ibérico (cured ham that melts in your mouth), and the legendary patatas bravas (crispy potatoes with spicy sauce). Seafood lovers, get ready for suquet de peix (a rich fish stew), and of course, a visit isn’t complete without indulging in crema catalana, the local (and arguably superior) version of crème brûlée.

Yes, absolutely. There’s a Catalan concept, gaudir, which means to enjoy or take pleasure in something deeply. That’s the feeling we believe every visitor should experience in Barcelona.

You’ll find that spirit of gaudir from locals when you connect with the city respectfully. It’s found when you support the bustling local markets like Santa Caterina, help keep the narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter quiet at night, and take time to appreciate the incredible Modernista architecture. This is the authentic Barcelona experience.

It’s this connection we create on our Eating Europe tours. We step away from the crowds and take you to the places locals truly love, introducing you to the people behind the food and the stories that make this city one of a kind.
