Barcelona is open for business and we are delighted to be able to eat our way through this magnificent culinary capital with you!
We remain vigilant about the spread of coronavirus and its impact on businesses and livelihoods the world over. We feel duty-bound to support incredible, small, independent restaurants, vineyards and breweries – our collaborators and friends since 2009 - which have remained resilient through these turbulent times. As a small, locally-owned and run company, we continue to exist to curate the very highest quality food and drink experiences, in the safest possible way.
The safety of guests, guides, partners and the public is our top concern. Because of this, we’ve developed health and safety guidelines in accordance with WTO and World Travel and Tourism Council guidelines, and in line with Spanish and Catalan government requirements.
If you have any questions, concerns or comments, please contact us: contact@thebarcelonataste.com.
Small Groups - We work with small, top-quality venues, and prefer to navigate the city as locals do - fitting in these charming spaces and blending in. That means for the majority of our tours, up to seven guests can be accommodated. We are not a pile ‘em high, pack ‘em in kind of company and never have been; we only ever run larger tours upon request for private parties.
Symptom-Free - We require that all guests be free of coronavirus symptoms. Guests with symptoms of the illness - fever, cough, shortness of breath - may not join a tour. Our guides self-monitor for common symptoms, take their temperatures before tours begin, and are paid in the event they cannot work due to suspected coronavirus illness.
Face Masks - Our guides and all guests may be required to wear facial coverings (mouth and nose) at certain points on a tour, during periods when this is required by local authorities.
Clean Hands - Hands may be washed with soap and water at each of the venues we visit. Handwashing is encouraged, and we remain a paperless experience.
Clean Settings - High traffic areas including venue restrooms are regularly sanitized in accordance with local requirements. Guides also sanitise their equipment before and after each tour. If your experience includes a chauffeur, your car will be sanitised before your tour begins.
COVID certificate - depending on prevailing local requirements at the time of your experience, you may be required to show a COVID passport or proof of vaccination in order to gain entry to the venues that we work with.
Social Distancing - In accordance with local regulations we will maintain social distance whenever possible while on tour, and our partner venues will do their utmost to adhere to distancing requirements.
Free Cancellation - We continue to offer 100% refunds for open (non-private) tours up to 48 hours before the start time. If you need to change your booking you can do so at any point up to 48 hours before your originally booked tour as well. This policy also applies to cases of illness, including COVID.
Private Parties - All of our tours are also available as private tours: just your party and your guide (and driver, where applicable). If you’ve booked a tour and would like to upgrade to a private tour, please contact us.
Contact Tracing - If guests, guides or others at the venues we visit report illness with coronavirus we will notify all guests that may have been in contact on that tour and encourage them to follow local advice (for example, obtaining a test and self-isolating), whilst maintaining individuals' privacy.
Compliance with Local Requirements - Where and when required, guests may need to show a COVID passport or proof of vaccination in order to gain entry to restaurants. We remind guests of this upon booking and in the days prior to the tour.
