Barcelona’s famous Gothic Quarter is, rightly, one of the highlights of any trip to Barcelona. Walking through the ancient roads of the Ciutat Vella (old city) takes you past Roman walls, alongside cathedrals, through precious plazas – you can feel the history oozing from every brick.

However "the Gótico" can, at times, be a bit of a tourist trap – particularly when it comes to food. But it doesn't have to be that way. In amongst the restaurants catering to mass tourism there are some small hidden gem restaurants that cater mainly to locals. The food here is as good as any you'll get in Barcelona. You just have to know how to find them - and that is where we can help.

Our tapas tour of the Gothic Quarter will take you to a number of small top quality restaurants and food establishments, leaving you sated, jolly, and with a better understanding of local Catalan and national Spanish cuisine. The Barcelona Taste launched in 2009 with food tours of the Barri Gotic and these tours are therefore our first love. They are a wonderful traditional option in Barcelona’s most historic setting.

Great first night in Barcelona. I had this tour lined up to orient myself and give me an idea of tapas in Barcelona. The tour did not disappoint! I was introduced to tapas I have never tried before and enjoyed every single dish. The locations were top quality and I'll definitely return. Lorea took time to explain everything, as well as sharing her knowledge of the city.

Ridiculous Food! We did three food tours on Portugal/Spain trip and this was the best one by far! The food was ridiculously good and appreciated the group was small. Gracia was very knowledgeable not only of Spanish food and culture, but history as well! I highly recommend booking this when you arrive to Barcelona.

Amazing experience! This was the perfect tour for my wife and I on our first visit to Barcelona. Our guide (Lorea) was charming, knowledgeable and passionate about her city and Tapas. We were treated like family at every stop and the pairings and variety of wine and Tapas were fantastic! We'll be back!

We had a wonderful time PLENTY of wonderful cuisine...we really enjoyed our evening with our small group of 6. Highly recommend doing this at the beginning of your trip! Oh, and they accommodated a tree nut allergy without any challenges - even substituted an alternate dish for the one item that included nuts.

Top tapas tour - honeymooners give it 5 stars! My husband and I took this tour on our honeymoon and it was amazing! It was so personalised and interesting. Our guide provided the history of the area and the food we ate, and was wonderful to converse with the entire night. The food was delicious, we loved walking around and being shown different historical monuments. We would 100% do this again!

A wonderful night tasting traditional Barcelona food Every visit to Barcelona should include a guided tour of the small Tapa Restaurants in the Gothic area of the city. We learned so much during out evening with Maribel and truly enjoyed the culinary experience. I cannot say enough good things about this tour. Highly recommended!

Perfect Taste of Barcelona A perfect Tapas Tour! Lorea is the perfect guide-she explains the food from the different regions, picks restaurants with not only wonderful food, but amazing architecture! We wandered around with her, and even though it was raining, she makes it feel like it's a warm, sunny day! I highly recommend this tour!

Fantastic Evening Out! I had been on a tour with Barcelona Taste about 4 years ago and it was great to see the quality of the venues and dishes selected were still amazing.
