Eixample is the beating heart of Barcelona and home to a dazzling number of architectural gems – including many of Gaudi's masterpieces.
It is also the place to find some of the best food Barcelona has to offer. In this tapas tour of Eixample we have carefully selected some of our favourite restaurants to share with you … and just to make it super special we only run it on Mondays – a night notoriously difficult if you want to have a top-notch dinner in Barcelona (many restaurants take this as their weekly day off).
An evening tapas tour with The Barcelona Taste is like dinner out with friends of a friend - at some of the best restaurants in town. Our tour groups are typically no larger than 6, meaning we can keep things intimate and discreetly visit the highest quality small food establishments... those most loved by locals.
You will visit three of the best restaurants and specialty food shops in Barcelona, where you get to eat plenty of food and your choice of top quality drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic).
You share a personal, relaxed evening with a local guide, who will leads you safely through Barcelona. Conversations will flow, be they about the neighbourhood, each dish that we order, Barcelona life, culture and history and any and everything else that comes up throughout the course of the night.
The gorgeous neighbourhood of Eixample is home to architectural gems including Gaudí’s Sagrada Familia, Casa Batlló and La Pedrera. Our tour starts in Example Dreta (right) and we then walk our way into the Eixample Esquerra (left), passing by the gorgeous Casa Batlló, one of Gaudi’s exceptional works.
On the way we visit three food and drink establishments that we consider are among the best of the area (and the city!). You’ll enjoy a welcome cocktail at a very old and elegant Art Deco bar, followed by two restaurants where we’ll experience different ways of understanding tapas… the one thing both have in common is plenty of truly excellent food. But what will surprise you most is the quality and variety of the wine.
The safety of guests, guides, partners and the public is our primary concern. Because of this, we’ve developed new health and safety guidelines in accordance with WTO and World Travel and Tourism Council guidelines, and in line with Spanish and Catalan government requirements.
Please review these guidelines before booking and get in touch if you have any questions.
Barcelona is a major tourist destination – the number of guidebooks and websites devoted to the city is overwhelming! Which is why we started The Barcelona Taste ... to let you experience all the great food Barcelona has to offer while side-stepping the crowds.
We take you to restaurants and shops on our scrumptious tours because they’re great. We visit, we taste and then we visit again and taste again. Ad infinitum! That’s our research.
We strike no deals and ask for no discounts or commissions. This is how it must be done, with 100% respect for small, local business and delicious, quality food.
