Eixample is full of stunning architecture and home to our lunchtime tapas tours

Daytime tapas amongst the elegant Modernist masterpieces of the city

The gorgeous neighbourhood of Eixample is Barcelona’s upmarket shopping and dining district. It is also home to architectural gems including Gaudí’s Sagrada Familia, Casa Batlló and La Pedrera.

Our Eixample tour is situated between these popular architectural wonders of the city, including dozens of ornately decorated modernist apartment buildings. This makes it the perfect choice for a break between sightseeing stops.

But most importantly, you will visit food and drink establishments that we consider are among the best of the area (and the city!). Expect delicious drinks and fantastic food - an unparalleled experience of the city's culinary scene.

If you prefer daytime dining, are travelling with young ones, or have plans to see the city’s Modernist architectural masterpieces this is the tapas tour for you!

Many beautiful people have joined us on our food tours – and here are some of the lovely things they've said about the time they spent with us...

Extensive knowledge of Barcelona's food scene It was an exceptional experience that exceeded all expectations. The small group size was a significant advantage, as it created an intimate atmosphere. We felt like we were exploring the city with a knowledgeable friend. The tour was not just about food; it was an immersive cultural experience that left me with a deep appreciation for the city & its rich gastronomic traditions.

A must do in Barcelona Tito was amazing. Friendly and knowledgeable. And the food was to die for. Lots of it and the best quality. The whole tour was fun. I will dream of the beef cheeks for years...

A great lay of the land We went to 3 different tapas restaurants - all were slightly off the beaten path and all were excellent. Maribel explained all the food, neighborhoods that we walked through and we learned some Spanish history. I would suggest you do this tour on one of your first nights in Barcelona, as it gives you a great lay of the land if you've never visited before.

Phenomenal experience Our guide Maribel was lovely company and arranged phenomenal tastings of traditional foods as well as some with a gourmet modern twist. The food was plentiful aand suited to our tastes. There was no shortage of matching local alcohol/wine as well. If you can, do this tour early as you get an extensive list of other restaurants to try as well. Only wish we could try them all

A wonderful evening We sampled delicious food and some local wines at each stop. Each of the stops on our tour was quaint and the dishes that were selected for us to try were delicious. We felt welcomed in each of the restaurants we visited and enjoyed the engaging conversation and information provided by our host, Tito. This small group tour felt like an evening with friends, old and new. Highly recommended!

Fun Time Exploring Local Wine & Food We had a wonderful time visiting a small winery not too far from the city. My husband and I had booked a private tour for a more personalized experience and were not disappointed. Adrià, our guide, was great, and we enjoyed learning not only about local wine but Catalonia and its history as well. The winery itself was beautiful, he wine and dinar (lunch) were absolutely delicious. If you enjoy exploring local gems away from the common tourist areas, we recommend going on this tour.

Highly recommend this tour! This is not your average food tour - we tried more dishes than I thought we would have and the wine flowed! I was stuffed and happy at the end and feel we were in lovely restaurants we would not have found on our own in the Gothic quarter. Book this one!

A Beautiful Way to spend a day away from Barcelona My wife and I participated in the half-day wine and food tour. We drove about a half hour outside Barcelona to the winery, where we were given a tour of the vineyards, production and aging facilities and the cava cave. We then sampled their wines and liked the variety provided. We then went into town and had a delicious and filling lunch at a local restaurant with more wine. They then dropped us back off at our hotel - a very nice day - highly recommend for something to get outside of Barcelona.

A Gem of a Tour We had a wonderful tour with Allison, the choices of restaurants and tapas treats, were varied and delicious. Her knowledge of the areas and foods was outstanding. Feels like a family when you are on tour. I would highly recommend to do this early in your stay in Barcelona as she also provided us with a list of bars and restaurants to visit on subsequent days.

Excellent tapas paired with wine & beer plus conversation! An excellent guide for our tapas journey in the Poble Sec region of Barcelona. In addition to introducing us to excellent and various tapas with beer and wine pairings, Tito shared his enthusiasm for seeking local experiences off the beaten track to tourists. Furthermore, we enjoyed learning about food, drink and Spanish - Catalan - culture interspersed with conversations about books, philosophy, etc. Thank you for contributing to our discovery of your beautiful city!

The Barcelona Taste: because it's delicious

Barcelona is a major tourist destination – the number of guidebooks and websites devoted to the city is overwhelming! Which is why we started The Barcelona Taste ... to save you time so you can experience the best food Barcelona has to offer while side-stepping the crowds.

We take you to small, local businesses offering delicious, top quality food restaurants on our scrumptious tours – because they’re great. We visit, we taste and then we visit again and taste again. Ad infinitum! That’s our research.

We don’t take a “pile ‘em high” approach with our guests. Our focus is on providing the best possible quality in everything we do. This includes limiting our tours to very small numbers, to give personal attention and feed everyone well.
